The congress delegates in the Conference Room of the Grand Kremlin Palace. First secretary of the Union of Writers of the USSR AA Surkov, delivers the report. Speeches writers SV Mikhalkov, MA Sholokhov, Tvardovsky, NS Tikhonov, AE Korneychuck. Congress welcomes writers of the People's Republic, the Republic of Iraq, the Mongolian People's Republic of Korea and Democratic People's Republic of Korea. First Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee, chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, Nikita Khrushchev made a speech. Writers VP Kataev, K. Simonov, foreign guests in the lobby.
