"Order of Rusanov" (2007)

In the early 60s of the last century, in response to the construction of nuclear submarines in the United States, the USSR began to create both strategic and operational-tactical submarines designed to search for and destroy enemy submarines.

Perhaps the most unique project in the domestic and world underwater shipbuilding was the project 705, proposed by the outstanding designer Mikhail Georgievich Rusanov from the Leningrad Design Bureau "Malachite".

Unsurpassed speed and depth of immersion, titanium hull, outstanding maneuverability, powerful weapons made the project "Alpha", as it was called in the United States, the best submarine in the world.

In 1998, the project 705 submarine was listed in the "Guinness Book of Records" as "the fastest underwater vessel".

And this record is still not broken.

Having become one of the greatest victories of Russian science and technology, the Project 705 submarine was almost forgotten in the 90s.
