Russian first planetarium (2006)

In the middle of XVII century in the Duchy of Schleswig-Holstein (Northern Germany) produced Globe-Planetarium diameter of more than 3 meters.

On the outer surface of the globe was drawn map of the Earth, and on the inside - the starry sky.

Ball had a fixed axis, which was secured round wooden table and bench for 12 people.

This globe has become a diplomatic gift to Tsar Peter I and is registered as the first exhibit of the first Russian museum - Kunstkammer.

Later, he was kept in purpose-built premises next to the Academy of Sciences, and then - in Tsarskoye Selo.
