The program is dedicated to the event that has become part of aviation history.

The Soviet plane safely made an emergency landing on the water, within the boundaries of a multi-million city - Leningrad (now St.

Petersburg).

On August 21, 1963, a TU-124 aircraft took off from Tallinn airport (board number 4521) following the flight to Moscow at number 366.

On board there were 44 passengers and one child.

Victor Smirnov is a flight mechanic.

Berimin Ivan is a boardwriter.

Tsarev Victor is a navigator.

Chechen Vasily - the second pilot.

Aleksandrova Alexandra is a stewardess.

Vasily Chechenov speaks about the technical condition of the aircraft during the flight from Tallinn.

Immediately after takeoff, the front chassis jammed and it remained in a semi-retracted state.

According to Ivan Mulkidzhanov, it is permissible to fly and land with such a malfunction, since similar precedents, by that time, already happened.

Emergency landing was appointed in Leningrad at the Shosseynaya airfield (now Pulkovo).

Vladislav Kochetov talks about the preparedness of the airfield for emergency landing, about special measures that were taken by the dispatch service employees.

Chronicle of landing aircraft of foreign airlines without front chassis.

In accordance with the rules of flight operation manual, TU-124 aircraft without front chassis are recommended to go with a fuel volume of not more than 800 kilograms, so the aircraft did not immediately land for landing.

The TU-124 crew made about 16 laps around the city, generating fuel to the required volume.

The crew members tried to unleash the front landing gear on their own, but nothing happened.

Aleksandra Aleksandrova recalls had to redistribute forces to drag the goods from the trunk in the front part of the tail.

In the cabin there were problems with air intake, so the passengers had to work hard.

Interview with a relative of one of the passengers of flight 366 Svetlana Lazurkina.

Vladislav Kochetov tells how he received the last message from the crew, that they were refused at first by one, then by another engine, the connection was cut off.

The plane flew over the St.

Isaac's Cathedral at an altitude of 600 meters.

After unsuccessful attempts to restart engines, according to Vasily Chechenov, he told the commander of the crew that only the Neva could save them.

The plane was deployed and headed for a sharp decline.

Before contacting the surface, it was 14 seconds.

The crew miraculously left the collision with the bridge and the tug that carried the raft along the Neva.

According to Vasily Chechenov, the crew was saved by the fact that the chassis that took the first resistance at the time of contact with water were not removed, after the speed of the plane's motion fell sharply and he began to glide over the surface, not plunging into the water.

One of the chassis could not stand it - flew off and made a hole in the hull.

The plane stopped near the Finnish railway bridge (less than 200 meters).

Alexandra Aleksandrova says that there was no screaming and panic in the passenger compartment.

The airplane, which, after a stop, began to be heated, was rescued by the tug that they almost collided with during the landing.

Yuri Porshin, the ship's ship manager, tells how he immediately swam to the plane.

By that time the crew had already smashed the windshield and took the cable.

The left wing was flooded, so the barge unobstructed approached the plane, took on board all the passengers, and towed the aircraft under the bridge.

Since the hole was a large aircraft sank in the Neva at a depth of 5 meters.

Interview with Sergei Vershler, who photographed the aircraft during its towing along the Neva.

It says that all the pictures were seized.

Only one frame was saved.
