Stepan Chistyakov met his future wife during a rehearsal for the Victory Parade, and soon after these events he left to serve in Germany.

He thought that he was leaving for a short time, but in Germany he became terminally ill and in 1946 was taken to his family in Sverdlovsk.

For some reason, he made them promise that no one would tell his wife and child, who had not yet been born at the time of his departure.

When the older relatives who made this promise died, Stepan's nephews decided to find his wife and child to tell them the truth.
