Russia has returned to scientific space: exactly a year ago (2011), the first domestic spacecraft "Spektr-R", better known as "Radioastron", was launched from Baikonur for many years.

A unique space astrophysical instrument was created by Russian specialists of the FIAN Astrocosmic Center and the Lavochkin NGO. During the year, more than 200 hours of observations of 29 active galactic nuclei, 9 pulsars and 6 maser line sources were carried out, in which radio telescopes from Russia, Ukraine, Australia, Britain, Germany, India, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, the USA and Japan participated.

Yuri Kovalev, head of the early Radioastron scientific program, tells about the results of the Radioastron space telescope and the projects that are being implemented with its help.
