The program theme is "The USSR in the Vietnam War". 1965-1973. In response to the US aggression in Vietnam, the Soviet leadership in early 1965 decided to provide the "brotherly Vietnamese people" with large-scale military-technical assistance.

According to American data, at the height of the war this assistance amounted to 2 million dollars.

Only the crews of anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) took direct part in the hostilities.

The first battle between our anti-aircraft gunners and American aviation took place on July 24, 1965. By the end of the war, the USSR had supplied Vietnam with almost a hundred S-75 Dvina SAM systems and more than 7.5 thousand missiles for them, which shot down 1,300 enemy aircraft.

As is known, the Americans were defeated in this war, losing almost 60 thousand people killed and missing.

Our losses in Vietnam, according to the latest data, are 16 people.

The names of only seven of them have been established.
