The Pilot Brothers are a world of fairy-tale stories telling about the adventures of the Boss and a Colleague - two detectives created by the famous Soviet and Russian children's writer Eduard Uspensky.

Cartoons with the same characters were created at the creative association "Screen" and the studio "Pilot" by Alexander Tatarsky and his colleague Igor Kovalev.

The Boss (Kolobok) and a Colleague (assistant Bulochkin) are Soviet and Russian private detectives.

The Boss and the Colleague are a kind of parody of Sherlock Holmes and his colleague Dr.

Watson.

The Boss and Colleague first appeared in Eduard Uspensky's book "The Abduction of the White Elephant", and then in Alexander Tatarsky's cartoon "Kolobki are Investigating" and were originally called the Kolobki brothers.

Subsequently, when the rights to the characters were transferred to the Pilot studio, they were named after this studio.
