The program topic is "Miner's unrest in the USSR" in 1989. The miners' strike movement began not on July 11, 1989, as is commonly believed, but on April 2, 1989, when miners of the eighth section of the 60th Anniversary of the USSR mine refused to leave the mine.
The miners demanded that quality products be brought to the buffet and that soap be provided in the showers.
On the night of July 11, the third shift miners at the Shevyakov mine presented economic demands to the administration.
A "chain reaction" began, and soon the entire Kuzbass rose up.
Of course, at first they were afraid of repression, but fear, as the miners themselves admitted, played a large part in organizing the strike - the strikers had iron discipline.
Strike committees appeared, alcohol was banned from being brought into the region, and vodka bottles were smashed in front of the protesters.
Result: "Protocol" with economic and political demands, handed to the authorities, and most importantly - a collective feeling of "we can!", which was transmitted to the whole country.
