Today, only in Russia they create rocket launchers that are elusive for all types of intelligence. The ancestor of a whole direction in combat rocket science was an installation that was not even called a rocket - the Guards BM-13 rocket mortar or simply "Katyusha".

In the mid-60s, it became clear that the probable enemy would know the location of our launchers and would be able to disarm us.

The mines of such missiles are an excellent stationary target, itself provoking the enemy to the first strike.

How to prevent it?

Either we strike the first blow ourselves and become the instigators of a nuclear war - or we strike back.

There were different points of view on the problem.

As a result, it was decided to focus on the concept of a retaliatory strike.

The film tells about several generations of missile weapons from the Great Patriotic War to the present day.

Among the "descendants" of the Victory Weapon are Grad rocket launchers, intercontinental missiles Topol, Yars, Bulava and much more, including communication stations against which "jammers" have not yet been invented.

In the preparation of the film, the chronicle of the war years and filming at various enterprises where weapons for the Strategic Missile Forces are being developed were used.

The film starred WWII veterans Ivan Fedotovich Abramenko and Mark Pavlovich Ivanikhin, Head of the Scientific and Technical Department of the 1st Main Directorate of the Ministry of General Mechanical Engineering of the USSR (1978-1991) Vladimir Mikhailov, military historian Alexander Shirokorad, General Director of NPO Splav Nikolay Makarovets, head of the Department of advertising and exhibition activities of NPO Splav Igor Kuznetsov, General Director (1995-2020) of JSC "Votkinsky Plant" Viktor Tolmachev, Head of Mechanical assembly Shop No. 47 of JSC "Votkinsky Plant" Sergey Karataev, Chief designer of scientific and technical direction No. 3 (2008-2015) of JSC "FNPC "Titan-Barricades" Anatoly Gulyaev, General Designer and General Director of JSC "FNPC "Titan-Barricades" Viktor Shurygin, head of the section of JSC "FNPC "Titan-Barricades" Vasily Kindin, Scientific Secretary of the State Museum of Defense of Moscow Kirill Dryanov, Alexey Dmitrievich Konnov, Head of the Serpukhov Military Institute (2011-2015), Artur Usenkov, General Director of Rososchemash OJSC (1994-2015), Yuri Solomonov, General Designer of the Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering, General Director of JSC "FNPC "Altai" (1997-2016) Alexander Zharkov and others.
