The program is dedicated to the singer Nadezhda Babkina.

Nadezhda Babkina was born on March 19, 1950 in the village of Cherny Yar in the Astrakhan region.

Her father, Georgy Ivanovich Babkin, held senior positions in the Astrakhan region.

Her mother, Tamara Aleksandrovna Babkina (née Chistyakova), worked as a primary school teacher.

From early childhood, she demonstrated a passion for creativity, loved to sing, and also had artistic talent, performing folk songs.

Later, her parents bought her a piano.

At school, she attended an amateur art group.

After school, at the insistence of her parents, she entered a medical school, but studied there for only one semester.

In 1967, she entered the Astrakhan College of Music.

Two years later, she began working as a soloist-vocalist at the Regional Department of Film Fication and Film Distribution in Astrakhan - she sang in the cinema before the start of sessions.

In 1971, she entered the conducting and choral department of the Gnessin State Musical and Pedagogical Institute.

In 1975, the first line-up of the ensemble "Russian Song" was formed within the walls of the university.

At first, they performed in factory and plant workshops with working machines.

The first notable success was a performance in Sochi at the All-Russian Competition of Soviet Song in 1976. In 1985, she entered the GITIS named after A. V. Lunacharsky, in the department of variety and mass performance directors, which she graduated from in 1990. Since then, Babkina has been creating and directing scenes and performance numbers herself.

Nadezhda Babkina took an active part in directing and staging the iconic performance of the "Russian Song" theater "The Forged Wheel", in which she played the main role of Destiny.

Since April 1994, the folklore center "Russian Song" has become an independent organization under the jurisdiction of the Moscow Culture Committee.
