Annotation:

Moon... satellite of the Earth... a source of inspiration and daring ideas. If the first lunar race at the dawn of the space age solved the issues of big geology, then the new goal that has captured the leading space powers today is control over the territory and lunar resources, and most importantly - the construction of lunar bases, which Soviet designers dreamed of half a century ago. The detailed design of the lunar base was entrusted to Vladimir Barmin, the developer of all launch complexes for rockets. The official name of the project is Star, but everyone called the future lunar city by the name of its main creator: Barmingrad.

Vladimir Petrovich Barmin is an outstanding Soviet scientist, one of the founders of Soviet cosmonautics, a designer of rocket-space and combat launch complexes.

The film tells about the life of academician V.P. Barmin and the incredible work he has done, to which he devoted almost all of himself.

On his account, BM-8 and BM-13 combat vehicles (the famous Katyusha), the first strategic missiles with a nuclear warhead, launch complexes for intercontinental ballistic missiles, Proton series launch vehicles and, finally, the reusable rocket and space system Energia-Buran... and the project of a lunar base for long-term expeditions has not yet been implemented.

A great personal tragedy for Barmin was the collapse of the Soviet Union, as a result of which the Energia-Buran project and other promising programs were closed.

Today, when science has stepped far forward and the space industry is at a new stage of technological development, it seems incredible, but the ideas of Soviet scientists have not lost their relevance.

The lunar city project is again in active development.

According to experts, its implementation is quite possible in the next 10 years.

The film stars Oleg Kononenko, Igor Barmin, Natalia Koroleva, Alexander Egorov, Vladimir Klimov, Fyodor Yurchikhin, Sergey Krikalev.
