The idea of growing plants in space is not new, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky also said that green flora in the future will become the main source of nutrition and maintaining the composition of the atmosphere on spacecraft, so as soon as the astronauts got used to orbit, they immediately began experimenting with greenhouses.

Today, similar experiments are being carried out by the IMBP RAS and all ISS crews.
