Everything that is intended for space should be light and at the same time as strong as possible, therefore, in modern rocket engineering, composite materials have long defeated metal alloys, even ultralight ones.

They were able to come up with and master the technology in the Moscow region, at the Roscosmos Research Institute of Special Engineering.

The basis of a rocket capable of putting a multi-ton cargo into orbit resembles a giant spool of thread.

An outer lining made of organic fiber is wound on a carbon fiber crate, such a structure can withstand both powerful overloads and large temperature differences.

Interview: General Director of TSNIISM Vyacheslav Barynin.

Barynin V.A. - Honored Machine Builder of the Russian Federation, Chief Designer and General Director of the Central Research Institute of Special Mechanical Engineering (TSNIISM).
