Georgy Gladishev was born on September 19, 1936 in Almaty.

He graduated with honors from the Chemistry Department of the Kazakh State University.

From 1959 to 1962 he studied in graduate school under the supervision of Professor S.R. Rafikov.

In 1966 he received a doctorate in chemical sciences.

In 1969 he was awarded the title of professor.

Since 1970, he has been the head of the laboratory at the N.N. Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics.
