The Soyuz TMA-16M manned spacecraft launched from Baikonur with two Roscosmos cosmonauts and a NASA astronaut.
For Mikhail Kornienko and Scott Kelly, the distance of their space marathon has begun.
They will return from the annual expedition in the spring of 2016 together with Sergey Volkov on another ship, because the resources of the manned Soyuz are designed for six months.
