At the beginning of 2016, the Russian-European ExoMars-2016 expedition will go to Mars.

With the help of Russian instruments, scientists will study the planet's atmosphere and search for water.

The ExoMars program is designed for several years and will be implemented in two stages.

The second expedition is planned for 2018, the red planet will be studied with the help of a rover.

The main task of the expeditions is the search for extraterrestrial life.

Rene Pichel, head of the Permanent Mission of ESA in Russia, Alexander Trokhimovsky, a leading specialist in scientific instruments of the ACS complex of the ExoMars-2016 mission, and Alexey Malakhov, a leading specialist in the Friend instrument of the ExoMars-2016 mission, tell about the project and the plans of the expeditions.
