The crew of the Soyuz spacecraft returned to Earth after a 186-day orbital watch.

Landing is one of the most important stages of the expedition.

Preparation for it begins long before contact with the Ground.

After undocking, the ship descends from orbit and splits into three parts.

The descent vehicle, protected by a heat shield, rushes to the Ground through the incandescent plasma.

Parachutes are produced at an altitude of 10 km.

Two meters before the surface, the soft landing engines are turned on - 6 small solid-fuel engines in the bottom of the ship.

Technical specialists and cosmonauts Yuri Malenchenko, Arthur Lee, Anton Shkaplerov, Pavel Vinogradov, Vladimir Sorokin, Viktor Volchkov, Oleg Kotov tell about the features of soft landing and ballistic descent.
