A seminar dedicated to the memory of Boris Smirnov was held at VGIK. Friends and colleagues called him the first space operator, although he had never been in space.

But Boris Alekseevich became, in the literal sense of the word, a chronicler of the country's space history.

At the age of 17, he got a job at the film laboratory at the aviation military base (the current CPC) and it was he who became the person who not only filmed the first detachment of future cosmonauts, but also taught them the technique of film and photography.

In the preparation of the plot, chronicle footage from different years was used, including fragments of an interview with Boris Smirnov in 2012.

Personnel:

Smirnov B.A. is a documentary cinematographer, film director, PhD in Art history, head of the Department of Film and Television Technology at VGIK, professor, lecturer, veteran of the Gagarin Central Research Center and the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
