The idea of traveling in space with the help of the solar wind was expressed at the beginning of the XX century by one of the founders of rocket science Friedrich Zander.

At the end of the century, the idea was implemented by Russian engineers, the experiment was called "Znamya-2".

The plot is dedicated to the 26th anniversary of the first space regatta in Earth orbit.

On February 4, 1993, the Russian Progress ship passed under a solar sail over central Europe.

The plot starred the developer of the experiment "Banner-2" Nadezhda Tatarnikova, academicians Vladimir Branets and Lev Zeleny.
