In 2017, the Russian ships of the Soyuz series have a 55th anniversary.

They began to develop them back in 1962 for a flyby of the Moon.

They did not reach the moon, but they became an indispensable "workhorse" of near space.

The "Unions" survived both the American "Apollons" and reusable shuttles.

Today, Roscosmos is working on a new ship, the Federation.

The first ships will fly in low orbits until all systems work out, however, the main goal, as once at Soyuz, is the Moon.

The plot starred Valentina Tereshkova, Vladimir Ponomarenko, Roberto Vittori, Mark Serov, Anna Kikina, Sergey Krikalev.
