The name of the program is "Master without Margarita" Prisoners of one of the correctional labor colonies of Yekaterinburg created a feature film "Pilate" based on Bulgakov's novel "Master and Margarita".

For the film adaptation, the convicted Eisensteins and Mikhalkovs chose the biblical plot line of the novel: the confrontation between Pontius Pilate and Yeshua Ha-Nozri.

The actor who plays the main role and the director-producer Alexei Muranov was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment for murder.

The former officer and then entrepreneur now works as the head of the club.

The role of Yeshua is played by a murderer with a 12-year sentence, former actor of the Novouralsk Operetta Theater Alexei Tretyakov.

Last year, the premiere of the play "Pilate" took place on the stage of the colony club.

The successful artistic experiment became known "on the outside".

Local patrons from the Orthodox community donated money for the filming of the movie.

The film's budget was $600. The authors worked on the film for six months.
