"Medical Errors".

The program is dedicated to medical errors.

It will be about unscrupulous doctors who not only do not want to correct the medical errors they have made, but even admit them.

On January 31, 1994, the expectant mother Vikhareva Vlasta Anatolyevna was taken to the 7th maternity hospital in St.

Petersburg.

Doctors came to the conclusion that Vlasta would not be able to give birth on her own and suggested performing a cesarean section.

An anesthesiologist was needed for a simple operation, the surgeon invited his colleague, Professor Evgeny Lantsev, to help.

The anesthesiologist tore the patient's trachea while administering anesthesia.

Doctors managed to extract the baby from the body of the dying mother.

After some time, Vikhareva's relatives, having recovered from their grief, analyzed what had happened and doubted the reliability of the medical report on death, so 5 months later a criminal case appeared on suspicion of medical error.

For about six months, under various pretexts, it was not possible to obtain permission for exhumation.

When the exhumation was finally carried out, the trachea was missing from the body, which indicated that traces of the crime had been concealed.

The court treated Lantsev more than humanely, he was sentenced to 2.5 years of imprisonment and released right in the courtroom.

The girl, born on the day of her mother's death, was named Katya.

Professor Lantsev never inquired whether the Vikharev family needed any help; as before, he works as an anesthesiologist.
