On April 17, 1956, a delegation of British power engineers arrived in Moscow at the invitation of the USSR Ministry of Power Plants. The delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Central Power Authority, Lord Citrine.
Moscow. April 17, 1956. A delegation of British power engineers headed by the Chairman of the Central Power Administration Lord Citrine is met by the Minister of Power Plants G. M. Malenkov. The members of the delegation are introduced to the heating plants of Moscow, the nuclear power plant of the USSR Academy of Sciences; in Sverdlovsk they visited the Uralelectroapparat plant, a film studio, where Lord Citrine spoke (synchronously); in Zaporozhye, a transformer plant; they inspected the Dnepropetrovsk, Stalingrad, Krasnopolyanskaya hydroelectric power plants; sanatoriums in Sochi, and the Matsesta healing springs. On May 2, the British delegation returned to Moscow. The members of the delegation visited the Noginsk substation in the Moscow region, and the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. G. M. Malenkov and Professor Chilikin were among the members of the delegation. On May 6, the delegation flew to Leningrad. The delegation members visited the city's sights and the Leningrad Electrosila plant.
