The film tells about the heroes of the autobiographical story by Anatoly Zhigulin "Black Stones" - young people, members of the illegal anti-Stalinist Communist Party of Youth (KPM), which operated in 1947-49 in Voronezh. In 1950, twenty-three people from this organization were repressed and sentenced to various terms of imprisonment, went through camps and exile. The surviving members of the KPM talk about how and why the organization was created and operated, and remember their deceased comrades.
