After undergoing military training in sports and health camps, the oldest members of the unit submitted a report on their acceptance into the ranks of the SS. Reichsführer of the SS and Police Heinrich Himmler, leader of the fascist youth Artur Axmann and holder of the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves Hauptmann Gerhard Hein came to meet with the youth.
