A German military training sailing ship in port, cadets are climbing on board.

The sailors are turning the winch and raising the anchor.

The ship is heading out to sea.

Two sailors are turning the wheel on the deck, the crew is climbing the yards and raising the sails.

Signal cadets are learning to give commands with flags, tie sea knots, and twist the rope.

A sailor is washing the side of the ship in a suspended cradle.

A craftsman is cutting out a model of a sailing ship from a piece of wood and placing it in a bottle with threads.

Germany.

An officer on the deck is looking into a sextant.

Crossing the equator.

Initiation of cadets into sailors by Neptune and his retinue dressed up as him.

The cadets fall prostrate before the god of the seas and are bathed in a pool.

Meeting another ship at sea, the signalman is transmitting a message with flags.

A sailor is lifting a sea fish from the deck, opening the its fins, similar to wings.

The ship gets into a storm.

The sailors run to their places, pull the ropes, tighten the sails.

The sailors can hardly hold the wheel.

The deck is flooded with waves, the wind whistles, tears off some of the sails and flags.

After the storm, the sailors are busy repairing the sails.

The ship returns to the harbor, along the way it meets a passenger steamer, a fishing boat.
