The film crew of the "Vzglyad" program traveled across Japan, where they met with a variety of people.

The main topics of conversation were the relationship between Japan and Russia, the attitude of the Japanese to Russians and Russian culture, and reflections on the northern territories.

The film stars former Japanese Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto, famous fashion designer Yamamoto, surgeon Yevgeny Aksenov, and veterans of World War II. Footage from war newsreels and student unrest in Tokyo is used.
