Historical background:

In April 1970 began maneuvers "Ocean", which took place in the seas: the North, Norwegian, Barents, Baltic, Black, Mediterranean, Okhotsk, Japan, the Philippines and in the oceans - the Atlantic and Pacific. The maneuvers were a show of strength of our fleet, the highest form of its operational and tactical training in planning and conducting major naval operations in the interaction of all the armed forces.
