The presenters present the documentary film by Irina Obukhova, Alexey Kosulnikov and Konstantin Kryakov "Russians in Paraguay".
In 1926, 75 Russians moved to Paraguay.
They fought, built ships, paved roads, treated people, grew bread and cassava, taught Indians to read and write, staged "The Nutcracker" and "Swan Lake" on the stage.
Monuments were erected to them, streets and avenues were named after them.
They gradually forgot their native language, but always remembered that they were Russian.
Today, there are 15,000 Russians in Paraguay.
They are united in the only Russian Association in Latin America.
They have a small room - the Russian House, where they meet once a month.
They think about Russia all the time.
Descendants of Russian army officers and those who came to Paraguay in the 90s tell about their lives, which by the will of fate were divided into "before" and "after", and do not lose hope of regaining contact with their lost homeland.
The owner of the port of Asuncion is negotiating with the government about allocating land for the construction of a new colony that could accept those for whom, as was once the case, there was no place left in Russia.
The film uses archival photographs and footage from different years.
