Tornado in the Ivanovo region, 1984.

The morning of June 9, 1984 was exactly as promised forecasters: hot and Sunny, and by noon was going to rain.

The townspeople went on their plots.

Many do not even have time to figure out what happened.

Element in minutes destroys the relationship, left without electricity and water for entire districts paralyzed transportation... several villages were simply erased from the face of the earth.

As a result of collision on the Ivanovo area of two atmospheric fronts in Furmanov area originated a powerful air vortex.

Cloud, from which fell a tornado was rapidly moving North.

In a strip of about 500 meters tornado compared to the ground of the house, broke and tore trees, poles, power lines.

He by-passed the city of Ivanovo, hitting the Northern suburbs.

An hour later the vortex was 60 km from Ivanovo, on the Bank of the Volga.

The second tornado, less destructive, originated to the East and proceeded across the Volga in the Kostroma region.

Throughout the victims, destruction, fallen forest.

The first message came in Ivanovo with a ruined Balinese police post in about 16 hours as soon as the police were able to get to the phone.

In a few minutes about the incident alerted all city services.

The doctors knew it was something terrible.

From disaster area to the hospital on lifts brought the wounded, ambulances could not cope with the number of calls, the surgeons of the day did not depart from the operating tables; had to operate in extreme conditions, without light and water, meanwhile, continued to receive new victims from other areas.

Only in city hospital № 7 was operated 97 people, another 166 were given first aid.

The tornado completely swept the village of Belyanitsy and Galabovo.

The total number of victims was huge, and the exact death toll is unknown to this day.
