May 1-21, 1987. USSR. Kursk Region. Kurchatov. Director of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant Vladimir Ivanovich Gusarov (right) and a group of specialists from the Polish construction company Energopol at the construction of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant. As part of economic cooperation between the USSR and the Polish People's Republic, Energopol worked under contract to build the fifth power unit of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant and facilities in the city of builders and power engineers, Kurchatov.
