USSR. Moscow. September 4, 1987. Citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany, amateur pilot Matthias Rust, accused of hooliganism, illegal entry into the USSR and violation of international flight regulations, during a break between sessions of the Criminal Cases Panel of the Supreme Court of the USSR. On May 28, 1987, Matthias Rust illegally crossed the border of the USSR in a Cessna 172 Skyhawk and landed on the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge in Moscow. Nikolay Malyshev/TASS
