Former Vice President of the USSR Gennady Ivanovich Yanayev during the oral release of the newspaper "Soviet Russia" at a meeting of the publication's staff with readers at the Moscow Art Academic Theater. Acting President of the USSR as a member of the State Committee for the State of Emergency during the attempted coup in August 1991, G. I.
