Belarus. Gomel. An image of hot particles in human lungs, obtained artificially at the Gomel branch of the Republican Institute of Radiation Medicine. No such particles were detected in residents of the region, but scientists believed that such cases could have occurred among the liquidators of the nuclear accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and among residents of the 30-kilometer exclusion zone around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
