Builders of the Baikal-Amur Mainline

February 1980. USSR. Amur Region. Track fitter Viktor Otrepyev from the Komsomol-youth brigade of Valentin Aleksandrovich Shpenkov during the laying of a railway track on the Ust-Nyukzha-Olyokma section of the Baikal-Amur Mainline. The track-laying brigade of V. A. Shpenkov, named after the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, the 68 paratroopers of the detachment of Konstantin Olshansky, was organized in 1976 from Komsomol members who came to the construction of the BAM from Nikolaev.
