Builders of the Smolensk NPP

Summer 1988. USSR. Smolensk region. Tadeusz Szodzie, an engineer at the Polish construction company Energopol, working on the construction of the Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant, his wife Irina, and sons Jacek and Wojciek, who came to visit him for the summer holidays. As part of economic cooperation between the USSR and the Polish People's Republic, Energopol was working under a contract to build the third power unit of the Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant and facilities in the power engineering city of Desnogorsk.
