Nine-year-old Rasa Prascevichute from the Vadaktai collective farm in the Vilkaviskis district of the Lithuanian SSR, who underwent foot replantation on June 18, 1983, in the kitchen of the apartment of a pensioner, a cloakroom attendant at City Clinical Hospital No. 51, Ekaterina Dmitrievna Volcheva on Bolshaya Filevskaya Street, who sheltered her while she prepared for an operation to lengthen her right leg. Due to the surgical scar, as Rasa grew older, her right leg became four centimeters shorter than her left, and her attending physician, surgeon at City Clinical Hospital No. 51 Ramaz Otarovich Datiashvili, was preparing to operate on her at the Central Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics.
