The film tells the story of the birth of the Russian dream of space exploration. It happened in the 19th century, when military engineers Alexander Zasyadko and Konstantin Konstantinov developed revolutionary gunpowder rockets capable of covering great distances. At the same time, writers Vladimir Odoevsky and Alexander Sukhovo-Kobylin were speculating about the future settlement of Earthlings in the space around the Sun.
