Weather satellites watch our planet around the clock.

According to their data, maps of cloud coverage, wind direction and speed, monitoring of cyclones are compiled.

No weather forecast is possible without these space complexes.

The Russian group of weather satellites will be replenished with the new Electro-L spacecraft No. 2. Tests of the device are coming to an end at the Lavochkin NPO, the launch is planned for 2015. The first Electro-L satellite was launched in 2011. In total, three weather satellites of this series will operate in geostationary orbit.
