Annotation:

The film tells about automatic casting lines that produce high-precision steel castings.

Reel №1

Automatic casting line.

The line produces high-precision steel castings.

A cartoon explaining the design features of the line.

Castings are obtained in molds.

Each mold is assembled from two halves of the mold.

The lower and upper half of the mold.

They are made in molding machines using steel patterns.

Rods are placed in the lower one to form the internal cavity of the casting.

Then it is covered with the upper one and metal is poured into the assembled mold.

After cooling, the mold with the casting is squeezed out of the flasks onto the grate.

All of the above operations are performed automatically.

A cartoon explaining in detail the operation of the line sections.

Pusher on the lower half-mold production line.

Molding machine.

Tilter.

Cutoff.

The main unit of the section is the molding machine.

A cartoon explaining the design and operation of the molding machine.

The molding mixture for the machine enters the hopper.

Checking the density of the mold.

Continuation of the cartoon explaining the design and operation of the molding machine.

The pusher moves the flasks.

A cartoon explaining the design and operation of the pusher.

Reel №2

For the automatic operation of the section, 5 flasks are required.

Cartoon showing the arrangement of the flasks.

This allows turning over the half-mold, removing the finished one from the section and feeding the next flask under the pusher simultaneously with pressing.

The pusher moves the flask table one step.

Cartoon explaining the molding cycle.

The bottom molding section is connected to the assembly section by transport roller tables.

Cartoon explaining cutting off the mixture overlap from the bottom of the half-mold.

The rods are placed, the interoperational stock is accumulated.

The second section manufactures the upper half-molds.

The same operations are performed on it, but the rods are not exposed.

Here, the flywheel bowl and riser are additionally molded for pouring metal.

Cartoon explaining such molding.

The carriage with the model kit is pulled out from under the press.

The model is removed by the crown beam and replaced with another one.

The carriage is pushed into the press by a pneumatic cylinder and secured with pneumatic clamps.

In the section of forming the lower and upper halves of the molds, all the actuators operate according to the path control system.

The system provides for two control systems, automatic and adjustment, when the operation of individual mechanisms is adjusted manually.

The third section is mold assembly.

The upper and lower molds arrive here on driven roller tables.

The upper halves of the molds, having passed the lift and tilter, enter the first assembler, this protects the lower mold from clogging.

As soon as the lower half of the mold is installed in the collector, the upper one is lowered.

A cartoon explaining the assembly of the mold.

The assembled mold arrives at the pouring section.

The assembly section is controlled by the command controller.

The command controller monitors the cyclicity of the work, checks for the presence of the next half of the mold at the input of the first mechanism of the section and the absence of a mold at the output of the last mechanism.

Only under this condition are commands given to perform the next cycle.

The fourth section is mold pouring.

The arrived molds are installed on similar plates.

A cartoon explaining the work of the section.

The process of metal pouring is shown.

The cycle of pouring operations is shown.

The pouring section is connected to the next section by a cooling roller table.

The poured form is cooled under the casing, harmful gases are removed by ventilation.

Reel №3

The fifth section is knocking out and strutting the flasks.

Cooled molds arrive at this section.

They are stopped by a roller stop.

When the cycle starts, the cut-off device and the pusher are switched on.

A cartoon explaining the operation of this section.

Knock-out unit.

A cartoon explaining the design and operation of the knock-out unit.

The top of the flask is pushed onto the lowering mechanism and sent to the molding section.

The bottom flask returns to its section.

Intermediate stocks are temporarily stored on the transport roller tables connecting the sections.

The design of the roller tables.

A cartoon explaining this design.

Adjusting the friction with a special key.

The drive shafts can be connected to the drive shaft of the adjacent section.

This design of the roller tables allows for stocks to be left without overloading, for the flask to be stopped at any point, and even for it to move in the opposite direction.

On the cooling roller tables, rollers of a similar design are mounted in two tiers.

The molds with the base plates move along the upper ones, and only the plates move along the lower ones.

The upper and lower rollers are driven in opposite directions by a single chain from the drive shaft.

A cartoon explaining this process.

The drive station from which the roller tables operate.

The station's components.

The sinkhole grates, which provide automatic spillage removal.

A large accumulation of backlogs at the entrance to a section indicates delays in its operation, and the absence of backlogs indicates delays in the neighboring section.

Of particular importance is the accumulation of molds in front of the pouring section.

To prevent the metal from cooling down, the section operates at a higher rate than the others, and the difference is compensated by backlogs.
