Both films of the series "Chukotka syndrome" was filmed during the first joint Soviet-French expedition led by French scientist Jean Malory. The film is set in a small Chukchi village of Uelen. People talk about themselves, their problems, wistfully recall how they used to live in yarangas, as they were resettled in villages. Excellent photography: the life of the Northern peoples, everyday life, school, sea hunting, carving workshop with excellent local Handicrafts, nature, sea. The painting raises questions of preservation and further development of a unique civilization.
