TASSR. Arrival in Kazan on an official visit of the party-state delegation of the German Democratic Republic headed by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Socialist United Party of Germany Erich Henecker.

The guests went to the Tatar Regional Committee of the CPSU for talks with Soviet leaders, led by the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee, L. I. Brezhnev.

Then the delegation visited the house-museum of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, laid a wreath at the monument to the fallen in the struggle for Soviet power.

On the same day, Comrades Honecker, Stof, Sinderman and other leading party and state figures of the GDR visited Kazan State University named after V. I. Ulyanov.

The members of the delegation left an entry in the book of honorary visitors.

On behalf of the party-state delegation of the GDR, Kurt Hager presented the Kazan University with a working model of the Universal Time clock, the original of which is located in the capital of the GDR - Berlin.

The next day, the party-state delegation of the GDR flew to Naberezhnye Chelny.

The guests had a friendly conversation at the city committee of the CPSU, at the KAMAZ factories, at the Palace of Culture "Energetik" the residents of Naberezhnye Chelny presented a model of the KamAZ car to the guests from the GDR.

Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Socialist United Party of Germany, First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the GDR Gunther Mittag donated the Red Banner.
