The prizes were awarded to the Chief Engineer of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium-Magnesium Plant M. Baibekov, a machinist of the Karaganda Coal Production Association K. Uskumbayev, the master of the production association "Embaneft" M.Anshibaev, the machine-builder from the Kokchetav region E.Kadralin, the maize scientist from the Taldy-Kurgan region S.Dumekov, the writer G.Mustafin.

The prize was presented by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR Baiken Ashimov.

Ashimov B.A. - Soviet party, state and public figure, chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR (1970-1984), Hero of Socialist Labor, veteran of the Second World War.
